Clients and connect links
Clients let you group the channels in your workspace by the customer or brand they belong to. Connect links let a client connect their own social accounts to your workspace without sharing a password or a 2FA code with you, and without creating a Schedulin account.
Everything lives under Settings → Clients.
Create a client
- Go to Settings → Clients.
- Click New client.
- Enter the client's name. Optionally add a reference ID, such as the ID you use for them in your CRM or your own app.
- Click Create client.
Each client shows the channels that belong to it. Channels that don't belong to any client are listed under Unassigned.
Connect a channel yourself
If you already have login access to the client's account:
- On the client, click Connect channel.
- Pick the platform and sign in.
The account connects to your workspace and lands under that client.
Send a connect link
If your client keeps their own logins:
- On the client, click Copy connect link. The link is copied to your clipboard.
- Send it to your client by email or chat.
Links copied from Settings → Clients work for 7 days. You can copy a fresh link whenever you need one; older links keep working until they expire.
What your client sees
Your client opens the link and sees a page with your workspace's name and logo, a line saying which client the accounts are for, and a grid of platforms. They:
- Pick a platform.
- Sign in on that platform's own login screen and approve access.
- Return to the page, where the account is listed under Connected. They can connect another account or close the page.
They never sign up for or sign in to Schedulin. They can revoke access at any time from each platform's own settings.
Which platforms are offered
Connect links cover every platform that signs in through the platform itself (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and so on), plus Bluesky and the platforms that connect with a token or app password, such as Telegram, Mastodon, DEV.to, Hashnode, and WordPress. Farcaster isn't offered on connect links.
Move channels between clients
Every channel on the Clients page has a client picker. Choose another client to move it, or No client to move it back to Unassigned. Moving a channel doesn't affect its posts, queue, or analytics.
Post to a client's channels
Clients group channels for organization; to post to a client's channels together, use a channel group:
- Go to Settings → Channel Groups and create a group for the client (for example, "Acme").
- Add the client's channels to it.
- In the composer, pick the group to select all of its channels at once.
Delete a client
Click the trash icon on a client and confirm. Its channels stay connected and move to Unassigned. Posts and analytics aren't affected. Any connect links for that client stop working.
Plans and limits
- Clients and connect links are included on every paid plan (Starter, Creator, Pro, and Bulk).
- Channels connected through a connect link, or into a client by you, count toward your workspace's channel limit. The limit belongs to the workspace and is shared by everyone in it.
- Every plan includes unlimited team members, so anyone on your team can create clients and send links.
When a link stops working
A connect link stops working when:
- It expires (7 days for links copied in the app).
- The client is deleted.
- The teammate who created the link leaves the workspace.
- The workspace no longer has an active plan.
In each case your client sees Link unavailable. Copy a new link and send it again.
Troubleshooting
"This connect link is invalid or has expired." The link is past its expiry, or it was cut off when it was pasted. Copy a fresh link from Settings → Clients.
"This connect link is no longer active." The client was deleted, the person who created the link left the workspace, or the workspace's plan lapsed. Check your plan under Settings → Billing, then send a new link.
The platform your client needs isn't on the page. Links created through the API can be limited to specific platforms; create a new link without that restriction. Farcaster isn't available on connect links, so connect it yourself from Settings → Channels.
The account didn't connect. If your workspace is at its channel limit, the connection is refused. Upgrade your plan or disconnect a channel you no longer use, then ask your client to try again. For platform-specific requirements (for example, Instagram needs a Business or Creator account), see Connecting channels.
Using the API
You can do all of this from code with the public API, for example if your own users connect their social accounts inside your product. See Using the Schedulin API.
