Changing permissions
You can change a user's workspace role or channel-level access at any time. Changes take effect immediately.
Changing a workspace role
- Settings → Team.
- Click the user's row.
- Change their role (Owner, Admin, Editor, Author, Viewer).
For roles other than Owner, this is a one-click change. To transfer ownership, the current Owner must demote themselves and assign Owner to someone else. There can only be one Owner.
Changing channel-level access
- Open the channel → Permissions.
- Find the user and adjust their access for that channel.
Channel-level access can only reduce a user's workspace role, not expand it. A workspace Viewer cannot be promoted to Editor on a single channel.
Effects of changes
- Demotion (e.g. Editor → Author): the user keeps existing drafts but can no longer publish directly. Their already-scheduled posts continue to publish.
- Promotion: takes effect immediately.
- Role change while logged in: the user's UI updates on next page navigation.
Removing a user
In the user's row, click Remove from workspace. They lose access immediately. Their authored posts stay (with their name attached) — removing a user does not delete their content.
If the user was assigned as the only approver on pending drafts, those drafts re-open to any-approver assignment.
