Using Pinterest with Schedulin

Schedulin publishes pins to Pinterest through the Pinterest API. You can schedule single-image and multi-image pins to any of your boards, including secret boards.

Connecting Pinterest

Connect on the Channels page. You'll authorize Schedulin via Pinterest's OAuth flow. If your Pinterest account is a Business account linked to a personal account, make sure you select the correct profile at Pinterest's consent screen before returning to Schedulin.

Once connected, Schedulin fetches your boards so they're selectable in the composer. Refresh the channel if you add new boards and don't see them yet.

What you can publish

Post typeMediaNotes
Single image pin1 image
Multi-image pin (carousel)2–5 images

Pinterest on Schedulin is image-only — our validation rejects videos and GIFs. Media counts are 1 to 5 per pin.

Required fields

Every pin needs a board. Our validation fails the post if you don't pick one. You can also optionally set:

  • Link — The destination URL Pinterest sends clickers to when they tap the pin.
  • Alt text — Set on each image in the composer.

Caption limit

Pinterest captions share the global 5,000-character limit, though Pinterest itself truncates captions around 500 characters in-feed. Hashtags are not clickable on Pinterest, so they have limited value there.

Analytics

Basic pin metrics are pulled after the pin publishes and shown in the Sent tab.

Known limitations

  • No video or GIF pins — image only.
  • @mentions and tagging users aren't supported through the API.
  • Hashtags are plain text and aren't linked on Pinterest.
  • "Best time to post" analysis is not available for Pinterest.
