Using Canva with Schedulin

Schedulin connects to Canva through the Canva Connect API. Once your account is linked, the post composer can pull designs straight from Canva, export them in the format you need, and attach them to the post you are scheduling.

Connecting your Canva account

  1. Open Settings → Integrations and click Canva.
  2. Click Connect Canva. A new tab opens on canva.com.
  3. Sign in to the Canva account you publish from, review the requested permissions, and approve.
  4. You're sent back to Schedulin and the integration card now shows your Canva display name.

You can connect a Free, Pro, or Teams account. Schedulin only requests read access to your designs — it cannot create, modify, or delete anything on Canva.

Picking a design when composing a post

When the post dialog is open, click the Canva icon in the toolbar. A picker shows your most recent designs.

  • Search — type to filter by design title.
  • Format — pick PNG, JPG, MP4, or GIF before selecting a design.
  • Load more — paginate through older designs.

Click any design to start the export. Schedulin shows a placeholder while Canva renders the file (this can take a few seconds for large MP4 or multi-page PDF designs), then attaches the rendered media to your post automatically.

Designs that contain premium Canva elements require an active Canva Pro or Teams subscription on the connected account. If you see an export error mentioning a license, the design includes paid elements that the connected account can't export.

Choosing the right format

Multi-page designs currently export the first page only. For carousel-style posts, export each page from Canva separately or assemble the carousel inside Schedulin's media tools.

Disconnecting

Open Settings → Integrations → Canva and click the trash icon next to the connected account. The integration is removed and Schedulin's stored Canva tokens are deleted. Re-connect at any time from the same screen.

Troubleshooting

  • "Canva not connected" when picking media — your integration was removed or the refresh token was revoked. Reconnect from the integrations page.
  • Export hangs or times out — very large MP4 or multi-page PDF designs can exceed our 60-second export budget. Try a lower-resolution export from Canva, or export the design directly from Canva and upload it as a regular file.
  • License-required error — the design uses Canva premium elements that the connected account hasn't paid for.
