Using Telegram with Schedulin
Schedulin posts to Telegram through a single shared bot — @schedulin_bot. There's no bot to create and no token to copy: you add our bot to your channel or group, and we take care of the rest.
Connecting Telegram
Telegram doesn't use OAuth. Instead, you add our bot as an admin and tell Schedulin which channel or group to post to.
- Open your Telegram channel or group (create one first if you don't have it yet).
- Add @schedulin_bot as an administrator with permission to post messages. (Bots can only be added to channels as admins — a plain member can't post.)
- On Schedulin's Channels page, start the Telegram connection and enter your channel or chat ID:
- Public channel or group: use its
@username(e.g.@yourchannel). - Private channel or group: use the numeric ID, which starts with
-100….
- Public channel or group: use its
- Save. Schedulin checks that the bot can see the chat and finishes connecting.
Finding a private channel's ID
Private channels don't have an @username. To get the numeric -100… ID, forward any message from the channel to a bot like @userinfobot, or temporarily make the channel public to read its link. Public channels are easier — just use the @username.
If the connection ever stops working (for example the bot was removed), re-add @schedulin_bot as an admin and reconnect.

Composer options
Telegram posts have two extra toggles in the composer:
- Disable link preview — hides the auto-generated preview card for links in your text.
- Send silently — delivers the post without triggering a notification for subscribers.
Caption limit
Telegram allows up to 4,096 characters for a text message. When a post includes media, Telegram lowers the caption limit to 1,024 characters — keep captions short if you're attaching images or video.
Analytics
Telegram's Bot API doesn't expose post-level metrics, so engagement analytics aren't available for Telegram posts. We still record the post and its t.me link.
Known limitations
- The bot must be an admin of the channel/group to post.
- Up to 10 items per album.
- No post-level analytics (Telegram provides no metrics API for bots).
- Posts are sent by the shared @schedulin_bot, not by your personal Telegram account.
